Welcome
LandWISE promotes sustainable production through leadership, support and research. Since we began in a field in 1999, we’ve completed a range of projects helping to conserve our soils, use our water wisely and get environmental and economic benefits from new (and old) technology options. We’ve run 18 annual conferences – with two unfortunately cancelled by Covid-19.
Soil Repair After Cyclone Gabrielle
We have information about ways to rebuild soils following flood events such as Cyclone Gabrielle. Developed with support of colleagues from the scientific and advisory communities, it will be updated as more is available. Click Here>
Success Stories
We are proud of work we have done leading development of irrigation system performance evaluations, calibration methods for broadcast and placement application equipment, nutrient budgeting for cropping farms, and precision agriculture. We pioneered strip-tillage in New Zealand, which drew us into GPS control and autosteer and controlled traffic farming. We’ve researched precision viticulture, precision land shaping for drainage in orchards, and methods to map variability in onion fields, neutron densometers to measure soil compaction, and the benefits to horticulture of satellite-based augmentation systems for better GPS/GNNS accuracy.
